Go Vegan World Christmas Campaign 2025
15.12.2025
Our Christmas campaign is live in Ireland and the UK. Ads can be seen throughout Ireland and at 250 locations in the UK (London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Newcastle, Southampton, Portsmouth, Cambridge, and Basingstoke). They feature the two animals most affected by our demand for animal products at Christmas, turkeys and pigs.
Our ads are designed to remind people that the animals they regard as trivial resources to meet our demand for taste and tradition, are not ‘things’. The animal agriculture system makes it so easy to regard them as a mass of inanimate resources. But farms consist of large numbers of unique individuals, each of whom shares our capacity to experience physical and psychological states. When we use them as resources such as food, we pay for them to endure horrific experiences that we ourselves would dread. Our ads show the terror each of them experiences at the end of their lives. It is the same terror you or I would experience if someone killed us.

Other animals are not food. They are sentient beings who have feelings, minds, and relationships. To arrive on our Christmas dinner table, each individual one of them has endured a brutal death. Almost without exception, they have lived miserable lives that we would not voluntarily choose for ourselves. We may fool ourselves into believing that the animal whose death we have paid for have lived a ‘happy life’ because they came from an organic or ‘free range’ farm. These labels are meaningless to the animals who experience the reality of life under oppression and exploitation. Even if they are well cared for, we do not have the right to take their lives and we do not need to.
It is so easy to stop participating in the appalling use of other animals and to choose a vegan alternative. We can still be healthy and enjoy ourselves without being responsible for the grave injustice we inflict on other animals when we are not vegan.
