The Go Vegan World vegan billboard campaign has returned to Scotland and the North East of England (see list of locations below). Using very large, striking billboards, the campaign serves to educate the non-vegan public about the injustice of animal use by relating the animals we use to the seemingly harmless products that people consume in their everyday lives. It calls for the complete abolition of all animal use through vegan education.

Because the egg and dairy industries are predicated on such severe violations of animals who share our ability to feel, and because of the hidden nature of the harm on which eggs and dairy are predicated, the resources for this campaign focus on these two areas of animal use.  The emphasis on the “humane myth” leaves viewers in no doubt that there is only one path to a non-violent life and that path is the complete abolition of animal use through veganism. Merely changing from one form of animal use to another form of animal use such swapping eggs from battery farms to free range eggs, is not helpful to other animals. Merely reducing our use of animal products is not helpful because it does not tackle the root of the problem which lies in how we think and feel about other animals. Non-violence can only be achieved when we learn a new way of relating to other life as equally deserving of respect and justice. Non human animals may be members of a different species to us but that difference does not entitle us to exploit them.

Viewers are directed to our website which contains extensive, evidence based information on all forms of animal use. It also contains a very useful free Vegan Guide which is available for download or hard copy. Go Vegan World is aimed at the non-vegan consumer and it makes veganism easy by presenting its rationale in a clear, consistent and simple manner. Other animals are not ours to use. Using them harms them because they have the sentient capacity to feel and have an interest in their own lives. Justice begins when we go vegan and stop using them.

Going vegan involves making some practical changes in our lives which are based on changes in how we think and feel about other animals. Most of us believe it is wrong to inflict unnecessary harm on others. Therefore, most of us already accept the reason to be vegan. Veganism happens when non-vegans make the connection between these values and beliefs, and how they live their lives. Once we learn how to implement a few practical changes we can live in in a way that is consistent with the values and rational beliefs that most of us claim to hold.
