This year, our theme is the natural, vegan, non-speciesist state of children. Children become non-vegan when they are indoctrinated by their parents and teachers, within a speciesist socio-cultural environment, that teaches them to believe that other animals don’t matter and that using them is natural, nice, necessary and normal. In order for this process to take place, the facts of animal use are hidden from them. If children were consciously aware of the facts, few would willingly comply with using them. We grow into adults who believe the myths sold to us by the industries that profit from animal use, only semi-conscious of the harm we inflict on the billions of innocent beings we exploit annually. Our Go Vegan World campaign aims to bring those facts into our consciousness and challenges us about what we keep hidden from our children as a means of propping up an industry that is so violent that witnessing it would traumatise most adults, never mind their children.
