Go Vegan World has launched its Easter 2025 campaign in Ireland and the UK. Ads can be seen in London (including sites at Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Waterloo, Wapping, Limehouse and Surrey Quays), Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and throughout Ireland.
The animals we use are not inanimate objects. They are not resources. Their flesh, wool, skin, milk and eggs are not ours to use. They are sentient, feeling beings. When we use them, we violate their rights to ownership of their own bodies, to freedom to make their own choices in life, to look after their young, and their fundamental right to life.
Inspired by the animals at Eden Farmed Animal Sanctuary, who trust their carers unconditionally, our theme for our Easter 2025 campaign is our betrayal of other animals for products we do not need. This ad features a specially commissioned piece of artwork by artist Jo Frederiks that illustrates the innocent trust other animals place in their human carers when they are deprived of their natural mothers and how that trust is betrayed when they are taken, by the animal agriculture industry, to slaughterhouses to be brutally killed.
Every individual animal bred to be used and killed for humans, has a unique personality and experiences physical and emotional feelings in much the same way as you or I. They form strong attachment bonds to their carers, they experience pain when they are ill or injured, and they feel emotions such as joy and pain. Because they are sentient, feeling beings, they share our fundamental right not to be exploited, used or killed.
The lambs traditionally killed for consumption at Easter are young beings in their first few months of life. Shortly before being killed, they were jumping and running in the fields with their friends, watched over by their attentive mothers. Every plate of ‘roast lamb’ was very recently an innocent, defenceless being who never in their life harmed anyone. Their joyful characters are in stark contrast to the violence of human nature that takes joy and love and life from other animals despite the fact that we have no nutritional need to consume them.
Please think about it. Be vegan.
